History: She was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. In her 13th year, her parents were killed by a gnolls raid, leaving Harriet alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She now mingles about in high society.

Motivation: Her name or reputation has been wronged in the past by gnolls, and she desires to right it.

History: Her parents moved while she was still in utero so she is the first generation to be born here. She took every job she could get her hands on, but the opportunities for Tabaxis in the east were limited. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to giants demanding more tribute than usual.

Personality: He is happy with his job as a Mortician. He turns his eye from what people do, preferring to live and let live. He is always in debt, since he spends his money on lavish parties and gifts for friends

History: He was raised happily, as a normal child born to his mother and father. His mother taught him the rudiments of the Mortician arts, while his father instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. He worked as a nervous Mortician and found it very stressful. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

History: Her parents moved while she was still in utero so she is the first generation to be born here. In her 19th year, while out on a day-trip, she returned to find her hometown burning and destroyed. She found her father impaled in their home, and her mother beheaded. She saw the woman who walked out, and charged her in a blind rage. The woman easily evaded and defeated her, leaving her to live broken and terrified. She has set out to sabotage the competition.
