He sought a place where he would be rewarded solely on the merits of his skills. This search led him directly into Mayor work with an outfit from a few towns over. Mayor work suited him well, and with each successful project, he earned more gold and more respect from his peers. He got away from his former life and has fallen to alcoholism.

She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to goblins demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Nothing but the best is good enough for her; and her name or reputation has been wronged in the past by goblins, and she desires to right it
