History: Gifted from a young age, Shadow studied abroad. A serious injury left his father unemployed and in need of constant care. His family became saddled with debt trying to care for his infirm father. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to gnolls demanding more tribute than usual.

She likes to wear darkened spectacles and heavy clothing, no matter the weather. Her white hair is slicked back into a classic pompadour. She wears large thick round spectacles.

Personality: Prone to second guessing herself, she comes off as nervous. As long as the job gets done she does not care how it got done.

History: She served in the navy to pay for her family's outstanding loans. Her father had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted her to inherit them. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

Motivation: She wants nothing more than to rejoin the army.

History: Trained by her mother for as long as she can remember she had it drilled in her head that it was her duty to serve her country. She graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. She advanced relatively quickly due to her good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. She then took over the family business and is one of the better Interpreter for hire.

History: When he was but 3 years old his parents immigrated from the north. Gimurt was born on a far northern desert where he grew up under the tutelage of his father, an expert Crown-heir. He has set out to sabotage the competition.
