History: He is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. At some point he was captured by illithids and was tortured. After several years of this he finally managed to escape. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by illithids, and he desires to right it; and he is currently in port desperately looking for someone to get him out

History: She was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. She always admired arcane-users and wanted to develop the talent, but never had the affinity for it. She has gone from town to town till she finds a spot where she can set up a sustainable business.

History: His history is one of pain. He was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves his parents kept. He always admired psionic-users and wanted to develop the talent, but never had the affinity for it. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. He has been working here for the past few years.

Motivation: Nothing but the best is good enough for him; and to end his boredom
