History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. He was part of a huge silver rush, which was taken over by a mining company. The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

She was taken as a slave by a traveling circus and forced to perform She left for the south, certain she would find work there.

Motivation: She is currently in port desperately looking for someone to get her out; and she is unsatisfied with her job
