History: He was born in the north. His father was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his father was legitimate. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Motivation: He is compelled to act according to his religious beliefs; and he has a rivalry with the church that dominates his actions

History: Umpen lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. He was an apprentice working in his father's forge. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by illithids. Umpen was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the illithids.

Personality: His voice, at times compared to that of a Nymph, lambasts those who consider themselves "civilized" with snide, belittling remarks; the subtle growl he speaks with growing louder in doing so, one can find it most pronounced, despite the otherwise natural purity of his tone. He is accommodating to his spouse and as such limits his hospitality. He is brave and levelheaded in the face of danger and has proven himself a capable leader.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when goblins swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order.
