History: The child of northern immigrants she idolized her mother. Through the years after Gurdis was born, her mother became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. Gurdis's mother didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. She left for the north, certain she would find work there.
