History: River lived on a farm with her father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. Her first spouse was a Courier, they had one daughter, but her spouse won total custody. Without her spouse to temper her she grew out of control. She was always very intelligent and has formed a secret society of specialists.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his father always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. Through the years after Xappan was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Xappan's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.
