History: Raised by wardens she was only a novice when giants swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. She was an apprentice working in her father's forge. Days after completing her studies, news broke out that her hometown was attacked by giants. Veloptima was horrified and prayed that her mother was alright. However, she heard that her mother had died fighting off the giants.

Personality: He cares much about the opinion of others, both in good and in bad: when keeping in line with his opinion, he thinks highly of the other person, but when opinions clash, he can get violently argumentative. Flattery will make him almost putty in your hands.

History: Gerbo lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Weaver. He ran away from his former home and has been making his living as a Weaver for the past few years.

History: He was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. Being born in the east, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the east for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way south. He has never given up on his poetry dream.

History: Born in the east to a Merchant, Sweet learned a great deal about her mother's area of expertise. She was part of a huge silver rush, which was taken over by a mining company. The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost. She ran away from her former home and has been making her living as a Merchant for the past few years.

Motivation: She's looking for her big break.

History: Born in the south to a Fisher, Jebeddo learned a great deal about his mother's area of expertise. From his teen years he was always beautiful and desirable, so people have always doted on him. He has set out to sabotage the competition.
