History: Vanchu was born into a poor family. Growing up, she dreamt of becoming a Ranger, to bring honor to her family’s name. When she came of age, she applied for a position with her town's local guard, looking to work her way up via merit and eventually become a Ranger in service of a powerful lord somewhere. She worked as a nervous Ploughman and found it very stressful. She is searching for what she claims is her rightful reward.

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Sage hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: Doesn't want to be a Sage and was forced into it by his family; and marry his sister to traveling adventurers
