History: She comes from a rich southern family. In her formative years she discovered how persuasive she was. She began using that to her advantage selling useless wares at inflated prices. She eventually got the idea of being the protector of her homeland from reading books, and has made it her duty.

Personality: Nykkan is depressed about a lot of things. He tends to be a nihilist. He does not believe in violence as a means to an end. He is a dedicated Navigator but believes his peers are too gung-ho.

History: A powerful wizard made him what he is. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

History: She got into the Bookbinder business at a young age. Being born in the east, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the east for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way west. She has gone from town to town till she finds a spot where she can set up a sustainable business.

History: Oda was born with her mother's beautiful face. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Oda grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Oda. She has been a successful dealer in antiques buying low and selling high.
