History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. He was one of the best in his class, and was picked up by his current employer. He quickly showed his capability and was soon promoted to a head role. He tends to his Shipwright job now, and dutifully fulfills any obligations he has.

Motivation: His spouse's relatives view him with great suspicion; and doesn't want to be a shipwright and was forced into it by his family

History: Synthrin was born to in a poor docking district. She spent her early days working in the same smith shop her father was employed at, doing general labor. She always admired arcane-users and wanted to develop the talent, but never had the affinity for it. She now owns her own business.

Motivation: Her name or reputation has been wronged in the past by illithids, and she desires to right it; and she'd like to take her coworkers down a peg
