The war was a terrible time for him, and Tree does not often speak of it. When he does, he does so with a strained expression and tears in his eyes.

History: He was born to loving parents in a slum to the west. In his 10th year, his parents were killed by a brigands raid, leaving Tree alone in the world. History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. His mother worked until he suffered an accident while they were digging through a hill for a new route. He had to support his now crippled mother and took his mother's old job.
