Personality: She has a massive crush on the younger sibling of the Herbalist who has hired her part-time. She believes the world needs to unite to get rid of dire rats once and for all.

History: She grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. She was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. She never won. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

Her respect, as difficult as one would find it to earn, is unwavering; those who more than prove themselves to her, a bar set well above any reasonable standard, she tolerates in varying degrees. Though less modest and more hasty in her reactions to snap at those who irritate her, Ella is combative with any and all who dare try her patience in the slightest.

History: The child of eastern immigrants she idolized her mother. A gifted student she started as a Spy, but she got bored and became a Tailor. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Personality: He takes his job very seriously, in part because he fears he cannot get a new one. He has no love for corruption and racketeering and views those as crimes of the highest magnitude.

History: When he was but 6 years old his parents immigrated from the south. He helped his mother out around the business and became quite the natural. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

Personality: He can speak with the dead, and doesn't see much difference between the living and dead. He will often invite strangers home for dinner and talk their ears off. He cares deeply for his spouse and does his best to make sure his guests look presentable.

History: He comes from a rich southern family. Brilliant and gifted he never wanted to apply himself. He was granted arcane powers by his dying sister.
