She did not win them back, but she came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

History: She was raised in a island tribe. She was an adventurer many years ago and she formed a blood bond with her Halfling companion (her 'brother'). She has became unsatisfied with her lot in life, and decided to take up adventuring.

Personality: She shows great sympathy to all travelers. She's the type to buy drinks and listen to their stories. She does suffer from mild PTSD, and the sight of giants may trigger it at times.

History: Trained by her mother for as long as she can remember she had it drilled in her head that it was her duty to serve her country. Since her mother passed away years ago, her father had doted on her, and she came to think her herself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by her attractiveness, a trait in which she easily excels the other women of her town. Recently a tribe of giants attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Carlin fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.
