History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Astaro was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. She was an apprentice working in her mother's forge. She now owns her own business.

History: She was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of her parents. She was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. She never won. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
