History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Traulam was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. She graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. She advanced relatively quickly due to her good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. She now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. He worked as a nervous Dilettante and found it very stressful. He has set out to sabotage the competition.
