History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. He took after his father in leading caravans. Because they were valued, his father taught him to defend himself. When his father died while fighting dire rats, the young Tod began to lead the lost caravan. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

History: She was born several months after her mother was called into army service. Eridred was born on a far southern plains where she grew up under the tutelage of her mother, an expert Beggar. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: She wants nothing more than to rejoin the army; and she is wracked by social anxiety

History: She was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. She was an apprentice working in her father's forge. She tends to her Miller job now, and dutifully fulfills any obligations she has.

Personality: Ribbles hangs on like a leech to those who appreciate him. It was this clingy personality that held back his dancing career. He is obsessed with a lost civilization.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his father always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. His family was being driven out of business by several neighboring competitors. The father sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. He saw this and took pride in his father's willingness to do anything to win. Lacking all sense, he decided to go on an adventure. He picked a direction and started trekking.
