She advanced relatively quickly due to her good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. When she grew older, she became a bit more civilized, usually hanging around bars and taverns. She began work as a mercenary for hire. She would embark on any mission as long as the price was right.

History: Born in the east his family was never financially stable. In his 16th year, his parents were killed by a dire rats raid, leaving Mantus alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Sailor they were divorced and he won custody of their daughter. He worked as a Layabout, and he later adopted a second daughter.

The war was a terrible time for her, and Bryseis does not often speak of it. When she does, she does so with a strained expression and tears in her eyes.

History: Trained by her mother for as long as she can remember she had it drilled in her head that it was her duty to serve her country. Her mother disappeared, and while she tried to raise money to find her mother, she was betrayed dozens of times. She has drifted apart from her friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature mace.
