History: Born to a Bookbinder, her father struggled to pay the bills. Before the accident, she was one of the most outspoken anti-Dwarven activists. She was mortally wounded, saved by a kind and fast-acting Dwarven doctor. Recently a tribe of dire rats attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Helen fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

History: Avice hails from a village terrorized by brigands. She took after her father in leading caravans. Because they were valued, her father taught her to defend herself. When her father died while fighting brigands, the young Avice began to lead the lost caravan. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: A rival would like her out of the picture; and she has decided she is irredeemable

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Art grew up listening to his mother's many stories. From there he went from mercenary job to mercenary job. He spent several years traveling with his friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.

History: He was born several months after his mother was called into army service. His parents divorced when he was young, and his mother gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his mother, who blamed him for driving them apart. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Shepherd responsibilities is difficult; and sabotage a competitor
