History: Dain was born with his mother's beautiful face. He was part of a huge silver rush, which was taken over by a mining company. The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost. Some 9 years later his spouse died after the birth of his daughter. Heartbroken, Dain never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his daughter whom he trained as his mother had trained him before.

History: She was born in the south, but her parents moved at a very young age to the west. She always admired martial-users and wanted to develop the talent, but never had the affinity for it. She moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Motivation: She feels that her past leaves her morally obligated to help.

History: She was born several months after her father was called into army service. She sought a place where she would be rewarded solely on the merits of her skills.
