History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Bertram was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. Brilliant and gifted he never wanted to apply himself. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

History: She served in the navy to pay for her family's outstanding loans. In her youth she was part of a gang. She got caught, but did not rat out her comrades and served her time in prison. She's since become an addict/alcoholic.

Motivation: To share knowledge with the world; and she feels that her past leaves her morally obligated to help

Personality: She is filled with cunning. She likes to feign weakness letting people think she is weak. She is an amazing painter.

History: A studious child she never was much for a social life, not because she was unlikable, but because she did not seek it out. Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Tabaxis in Five's homeland. Five decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. She moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.
