She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the north for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way east. She has drifted from career to career and currently works as a Animal Trainer.

Through the years after Abalaba was born, her mother became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. Abalaba's mother didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. When her spouse passed she lost her only source of income but claims to her sons to still be retired.
