History: A studious child she never was much for a social life, not because she was unlikable, but because she did not seek it out. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Shadow grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Shadow. She would ruin relationships and cause injury. She was reprimanded several times before being given her current form and forced to learn humility.

Personality: She takes her job very seriously, in part because she fears she cannot get a new one. She is often prim and proper but will on occasion tell either really disgusting or offensive jokes, which seem out of character.

History: She was born in the east. Her mother disappeared, and while she tried to raise money to find her mother, she was betrayed dozens of times. She left for the east, certain she would find work there.

History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Donaar was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. His mother was a soldier and died while he was still young. Donaar was left his mother's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. After a long history of fighting, Donaar and his spouse have recently divorced.

Motivation: He wants nothing more than to rejoin the army.

History: Waywocket was born into a poor family. Growing up, she dreamt of becoming a Adept, to bring honor to her family’s name. When she came of age, she applied for a position with her town's local guard, looking to work her way up via merit and eventually become a Adept in service of a powerful lord somewhere. She was part of a huge silver rush, which was taken over by a mining company. The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost. She spent several years traveling with her friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.
