History: The child of northern immigrants he idolized his father. Peren liked to wander the woods near his home when he was young, something he still likes to do at least once a week. He never liked modest clothing or shoes, so he would wander the woods barefoot and lightly dressed, and he developed a good sense of balance and learned how to climb and swim well. He left for the north, certain he would find work there.

History: She was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. She found a children's book about a Gnome Bard who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. She modeled her life after the story, seeing herself destined a hero. She has been saving her money to try and buy her sister's freedom.

Motivation: Many illithids want her driven away; and obtaining odd cultural halfling artifacts is her passion
