History: The child of eastern immigrants he idolized his mother. Gardain was born on a far eastern desert where he grew up under the tutelage of his mother, an expert Sage. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: Nim was born the youngest of three triplets. He went to a religious school and was inspired by the priests there in charitable deeds. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

She had to support her now crippled father and took her father's old job. She now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.
