History: Bathin was born into a poor family. Growing up, he dreamt of becoming a Ranger, to bring honor to his family’s name. When he came of age, he applied for a position with his town's local guard, looking to work his way up via merit and eventually become a Ranger in service of a powerful lord somewhere. In his 13th year, his parents were killed by a illithids raid, leaving Bathin alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He is searching for what he claims is his rightful reward.

History: She was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. Her mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted her to inherit them. She has been a successful dealer in antiques buying low and selling high.
