History: Roland hails from a village terrorized by dire rats. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. One night he noticed a nearby shooting star which he hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

History: Jaxi was born to in a poor docking district. She spent her early days working in the same smith shop her father was employed at, doing general labor. Since her father passed away years ago, her mother had doted on her, and she came to think her herself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by her attractiveness, a trait in which she easily excels the other women of her town.
