Personality: He considers himself the protector of his home. He feels this is his duty and calling. He is motivated by money and will often try and persuade people to work for cheap. He haggles over everything, upselling his goods and buying cheap. He is persistent in everything.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. He took after his mother in leading caravans. Because they were valued, his mother taught him to defend himself. When his mother died while fighting dire rats, the young Oppleby began to lead the lost caravan. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: Born to a poor family in the city she treasured whatever gifts she got. She went to a religious school and was inspired by the priests there in charitable deeds. She has never given up on her writing dream.

He eventually got the idea of being the protector of his homeland from reading books, and has made it his duty.

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. He left for the east, certain he would find work there.
