History: His father raised him in a mountain cabin. His mother disappeared, and while he tried to raise money to find his mother, he was betrayed dozens of times. He has been saving his money to try and buy his sister's freedom.

Motivation: His relatives are trying to arrange a marriage; and wants to raise his children well

History: Her necromantic talent manifested at a young age. Aiming to upstage a rival house, her parents had her trained. Her mother was a soldier and died while she was still young. Kilia was left her mother's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. She is untrained/undisciplined, which makes her dangerous.
