Description: This fat northern man has a bulbous nose and wears a shirt that is too small, which lets his gut show, with a ratty violet coat over it. His skin is also unnaturally pale. His silver hair is cut short with large spiked bangs in the front. His ears are large.

Personality: He is overprotective of those who hire his services. He is a very good compulsive liar and kleptomaniac.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when gnolls swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Varis was a troubled youth. He spent his days as a hard laborer instead of attending school, and spent his evenings with numerous mobsters and gang members. Varis decided he wanted neither the life of his mother nor that of the evil petty criminals he associated with. During his early adolescence, he took a sudden opportunity while working the docks and commandeered a vessel that was left unmanned. History: His parents moved while he was still in utero so he is the first generation to be born here. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: He loathes his own lifestyle; and he wants nothing more than to rejoin the army
