History: He comes from a rich southern family. Cursed with lycanthropy at a very young age, Tethren has worked very hard to control his curse. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

Motivation: He is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions; and to be a shipwright again
