History: He was born in the west, but his parents moved at a very young age to the north. Before the accident, he was one of the most outspoken anti-Gnomish activists. He was mortally wounded, saved by a kind and fast-acting Gnomish doctor. He left for the west, certain he would find work there.

After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by dire rats. Mantus was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the dire rats.

Days after completing her studies, news broke out that her hometown was attacked by illithids. Jane was horrified and prayed that her mother was alright. However, she heard that her mother had died fighting off the illithids.
