History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his father always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. He has had some formal writing training, and achieved minor success. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

A true patriot, Helgret would do anything for her country. She is fiercely protective of her fellow citizens and foreign allies.

History: She served in the navy to pay for her family's outstanding loans. Her father disappeared, and while she tried to raise money to find her father, she was betrayed dozens of times. She has built up a small fortune and can afford her own way.

He wears rectangular glasses with silver brims.

Personality: He never swears and excessively uses polite adverbs when speaking. He invented a lineage for himself and claims to be descended from several legendary heroes.

History: Einkil lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. Being born in the north, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the north for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way west. He left for the north, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: Regain custody of his daughter; and he has a rivalry with the church that dominates his actions
