She was regularly beaten by her mother, who blamed her for driving them apart. After a long history of fighting, Jo and her spouse have recently divorced.

History: He grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. His mother took him hunting and taught him how to get in the mind of other creatures. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. He took every job he could get his hands on, but the opportunities for Tabaxis in the east were limited. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.
