History: Merla was raised in a hard working conservative environment. She was an apprentice working in her father's forge. She struck the Cartwright job and began her own company from there.

Personality: In the realm of puns, she cannot help herself. She feels obliged to make them. She is submissive, is generally bored by everything, but will take part in whatever people ask of her. She is by nature obliging.

History: Her psionic talent manifested at a young age. Aiming to upstage a rival house, her parents had her trained. Brilliant and gifted she never wanted to apply herself. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: The child of southern immigrants he idolized his father. Through the years after Abad was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Abad's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He left for the south, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: He is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions; and he feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help
