In his 14th year, his parents were killed by a illithids raid, leaving Broce alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

History: She was born to loving parents in a slum to the east. Over the years she perfected her riding and shooting skills. Recently she has begun working with bootleggers and crooks.

Motivation: She feels that her past leaves her morally obligated to help; and she is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences her actions

History: She was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. Her parents divorced when she was young, and her mother gained full cudstody. She was regularly beaten by her mother, who blamed her for driving them apart. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.
