History: She was raised happily, as a normal child born to her mother and father. Her mother taught her the rudiments of the Engraver arts, while her father instructed her in etiquette, music and courtly manner. She sought a place where she would be rewarded solely on the merits of her skills. This search led her directly into Engraver work with an outfit from a few towns over. Engraver work suited her well, and with each successful project, she earned more gold and more respect from her peers. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

History: When she was but 7 years old her parents immigrated from the west. Jillian was born on a far western forest where she grew up under the tutelage of her mother, an expert Ploughman. She left for the west, certain she would find work there.

History: Trained by his mother for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. His mother was a soldier and died while he was still young. Naal was left his mother's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. He has set out to sabotage the competition.
