History: She comes from a rich southern family. Through the years after Gale was born, her mother became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Gale's mother didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. She now owns her own business.

Personality: She has schizophrenia that causes her to hear things that aren't there and will sometimes respond to them. She dislikes loud distracting noises, but is overall hospitable. Her biggest love is that of knowledge and as such will purchase any books or pay to listen to tales that travelers might have.

History: Born in the west her family was never financially stable. She was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. She never won. She routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Personality: Quiet and reserved she prefers to listen than to talk. She will nod occasionally and communicate nonverbally. She is terrible with names forgetting people's names several times before they finally stick; this causes her no end of embarrassment.

History: She was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. Her childhood dream was to be a Fortune-teller, but she was a colossal failure. She now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Motivation: She doesn't get along with people that don't share her tastes; and nothing but the best is good enough for her

History: She was always a brilliant, if unscrupulous mind. When she came of age, she joined a caravan that would eventually take her to the capital. She would practice along the way and, when she arrived, be apprenticed to a Fisher. She has set out to sabotage the competition.

Personality: She resents people who mock her appearance or her, so she has learned to be the meanest son of a gun. She uses her nature as a weapon; she likes to lead opponents to think her in distress.

History: She was born several months after her father was called into army service. Her father was a soldier and died while she was still young. Menny was left her father's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. She moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.
