History: She was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of her parents. She was an apprentice working in her mother's forge. Unlike her family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, she wanted to work in the city. She has been working here for the past few years.

Personality: Overbrimming with self-confidence, Katherine isn't afraid of most anything. She has a strong dislike to people who do not believe in Half-Elven unity. She does not trust anyone and sleeps with one eye open.

History: She was born at the edge of vast mountains. Her father took her hunting and taught her how to get in the mind of other creatures. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

Motivation: She feels the way she acts is they only way to get by in the world.

History: Kothûg lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. A gifted student he started as a Beggar, but he got bored and became a Interpreter. He has since lost track of the people in his past.

History: She was born into a rich family. Her father had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted her to inherit them. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: A deep hatred of brigands; and her name or reputation has been wronged in the past by brigands, and she desires to right it

History: She was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. Her father disappeared, and while she tried to raise money to find her father, she was betrayed dozens of times. She has been a successful dealer in antiques buying low and selling high.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of her brother; and to unite with her brother
