Personality: She is not truly malevolent, but she is obsessed with painting. She constantly tries to fill her life with painting. A true patriot, Volen would do anything for her country. She is fiercely protective of her fellow citizens and foreign allies.

History: She was born at the edge of vast desert. When she was little, her rather wealthy family often ventured across the desert to a summer home near a ruined castle. She would wander through that ruined castle and adventure through it for days. One day while adventuring a terrible storm took place and she was stranded inside. Her family spent the next few days looking for her, and could only assume she was dead when it came time to leave. The family never returned to the desert due to the painful memories there. Volen took refuge in the ruined castle and found the beat up mace and armor she uses now. She has built up a small fortune and can afford her own way.

Personality: She shows great sympathy to all travelers. She's the type to buy drinks and listen to their stories. When she's not drinking or sleeping the drinks off, she's doing painting.

History: She served in the navy to pay for her family's outstanding loans. A gypsy cursed her at a young age, leading to her ugly appearance. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: She wants nothing more than to rejoin the army; and she has money and likes to spend it

History: Born the oldest of a large religious southern family, she was no stranger to responsibility. Her mother was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but she insists her mother was legitimate. She is untrained/undisciplined, which makes her dangerous.

Personality: In the realm of puns, she cannot help herself. She feels obliged to make them. She is fiercely devoted to her father, and views her father's ex-spouse as an evil person for separating her from her legal half-brother.

History: She served in the navy to pay for her family's outstanding loans. Being born in the north, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the north for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way east. Due to her spouse's obsession with being a Fisher they were divorced and she won custody of their daughter. She worked as a Healer, and she later adopted a second daughter.

Motivation: An old rival family wants her found; and her spouse's relatives view her with great suspicion
