History: Kody hails from a village terrorized by dire rats. As a very small child his family refused to pay dues to a local crime lord, who ordered them killed. His father, a somewhat powerful mage sought to protect him and cast a teleportation spell that whisked him away. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by dire rats. Kody was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the dire rats.

History: Born in the north his family was never financially stable. His family was being driven out of business by several neighboring competitors. The father sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. He saw this and took pride in his father's willingness to do anything to win. One night he noticed a nearby shooting star which he hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.
