She was regularly beaten by her mother, who blamed her for driving them apart. She left for the south, certain she would find work there.

Personality: Cocky and sure of herself, she believes she is the best Apothecary born in the past three hundred years. She constantly seizes attention wherever she goes and has come to expect this respect from everyone. She likes to think of herself as merciful, but nonetheless is very strict.

History: Emma lived on a farm with her mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. She sought a place where she would be rewarded solely on the merits of her skills. This search led her directly into Apothecary work with an outfit from a few towns over. Apothecary work suited her well, and with each successful project, she earned more gold and more respect from her peers. She ran away from her former home and has been making her living as a Apothecary for the past few years.

Through the years after Xanaphia was born, her mother became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Xanaphia's mother didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. She has set out to sabotage the competition.
