History: Born in the east to a Gardener, Balam learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. His first spouse was a Mason, they had one daughter, but his spouse won total custody. Without his spouse to temper him he grew out of control. He now owns his own business.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Gardener responsibilities is difficult; and he feels threatened by others

History: Sun was raised in a hard working conservative environment. He was an apprentice working in his mother's forge. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Personality: She's a bit of a prankster. She knows she is clumsy and seen as such and will often feign amnesia after injury. She does not believe in violence as a means to an end. She is a dedicated Barber but believes her peers are too gung-ho.

History: Her arcane talent manifested at a young age. Aiming to upstage a rival house, her parents had her trained. Dara abandoned her home at a very young age, living in the fields and plains.
