Personality: She is erratic and paranoid. She believes brigands are coming to abduct people. She is terrible with names forgetting people's names several times before they finally stick; this causes her no end of embarrassment.

History: She was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. In her 13th year, her parents were killed by a brigands raid, leaving Shifting alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She eventually got the idea of being the protector of her homeland from reading books, and has made it her duty.

Motivation: Her name or reputation has been wronged in the past by brigands, and she desires to right it; and a deep hatred of brigands

History: She served in the navy to pay for her family's outstanding loans. She found a children's book about a Half-Elf Adept who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. She modeled her life after the story, seeing herself destined a hero. She now mingles about in high society.

He lives in a bit of an ivory tower believing all problems are one quick intervention away from being solved.

History: His history is one of pain. He was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves his parents kept. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. He now travels the world, in search of power and loot.
