Personality: He considers himself the protector of his home. He feels this is his duty and calling. He loves his children and doesn't want them to worry about him. He loves to share his painting with anyone who is interested.

History: Trained by his father for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. He moved from fad to fad and when he turned 15 he discovered painting. He has been saving his money to try and buy his sister's freedom.

Motivation: Doesn't want to be a Bowyer and was forced into it by his family; and regain custody of his daughter

Personality: She goes out her way to put a smile on everyone's face. There's no-one she won't accept into her heart. She has all her life been fascinated with writing.

History: She was born several months after her father was called into army service. A gifted student she started as a Layabout, but she got bored and became a Fletcher. She has worked as a Fletcher like her father before her.

Motivation: Balancing her hectic life and new Fletcher responsibilities is difficult; and she wants nothing more than to rejoin the army

History: From birth he was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. Gorfel abandoned his home at a very young age, living in the fields and plains. He survived everyday through hunting and stealing from passersby. He did whatever it took for him to survive. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.
