History: He was born into a rich family. He graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. He has worked as a Knight like his father before him.

Motivation: He'd like to take his coworkers down a peg; and to protect his home

History: Born the oldest of a large religious western family, she was no stranger to responsibility. She sought a place where she would be rewarded solely on the merits of her skills. This search led her directly into Mayor work with an outfit from a few towns over. Mayor work suited her well, and with each successful project, she earned more gold and more respect from her peers. She's also a talented Tailor, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

Perhaps she's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that she plain doesn't fit in. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
