Mardred decided she wanted neither the life of her father nor that of the evil petty criminals she associated with. Being a Mason kept her interest for a while, but then she became depressed and bored. So she turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.

History: Born in a small village she learned the ways of the warrior from her father. In her youth she was a Blacksmith, and wanted to be a champion fighter when she grew up. She was working during a period of war, and as one of the natives she lived in fear of joining the others in being slaughtered. She saw the brutality and swore off her fighting aspirations, taking her younger sister on her back after seeing her parents die, and fled the country. She has set out to sabotage the competition.

Personality: He loves telling others what to do and how they should feel about things. When he's not drinking or sleeping the drinks off, he's doing writing.

History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. He moved from fad to fad and when he turned 15 he discovered writing. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: Nim hails from a village terrorized by giants. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: Raised by wardens she was only a novice when orcs swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Her mother was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but she insists her mother was legitimate. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to orcs demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: A deep hatred of orcs.
