History: Born to a poor family in the city she treasured whatever gifts she got. Being born in the north, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the north for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way south. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Description: She wears a suit in poor condition. It has not been laundered in sometime and has been worn in activities one would not normally wear a suit during. Her attire stands in sharp contrast to her dagger, which is beautifully polished and possesses an ornate carving of a dagger on it. Her hair is always cut to a buzz. She is missing an eye and her face is severely sunburned. Her one remaining eye shines blue.

Personality: Aggressive, abrasive, and angry, Merla embodies much of what other species detest in the Halflings. She is very protective of her business, her home, and her spouse. She is willing to work with less than legal methods but maintains the front of legitimacy.

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Merla was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. From there she went from mercenary job to mercenary job. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: When she was but 5 years old her parents immigrated from the east. Her mother was very strict, and drilled into her lessons on being the perfect lady. She left for the east, certain she would find work there.

History: Gifted from a young age, Reynard studied abroad. He was taken from his home at a very young age. He was forced to fight in gladiatorial arenas alongside his partner. They became the best of friends and one day they managed to break out together and then went their separate ways.

Personality: He speaks before he thinks and is too direct. The war was a terrible time for him, and Tarhun does not often speak of it. When he does, he does so with a strained expression and tears in his eyes.

History: He got into the Ruler business at a young age. His mother disappeared, and while he tried to raise money to find his mother, he was betrayed dozens of times. He has been saving his money to try and buy his sister's freedom.

Motivation: He loathes his own lifestyle; and to unite with his sister
