History: The child of northern immigrants she idolized her mother. Oriff was born on a far northern plains where she grew up under the tutelage of her mother, an expert Marshal. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: She was born several months after her father was called into army service. Her father was a soldier and died while she was still young. Jo was left her father's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.
